Some Pics from the 32nd

Possible Results

My take on this whole mess that the cup is in:

First let me say that I was in Valencia for the 32nd cup, and it was a awesome event. The city of Valencia has a lot to show off and should be very proud.

I don't think you have to be too smart to figure out what EB was trying to do; he was clearly working with Valencia and the Spanish government to try to keep the AC in Valencia as long as possible in return Valencia / Spain gave him a paper yacht club that would agree to whatever protocol he wished. The way I see it "having" can only be used in past or present tense, not future tense.

So the two possible outcomes are:

1. The court sides with Alinghi and the 33rd cup moves forward with the modified and agreed upon protocol without BOR. Larry gets to spend more time with his Bi-plane!

2. The court sides with BOR. Here's where things get tricky, I don't think EB has any intention on meeting BOR and Dogzilla in a one on one match. On numerous occasions BOR has asked to go back to the protocol of the 32nd AC and that's just what will happen.

EB has one goal, keep the cup as long as possible. If he meets BOR in a one on one he is almost certainly at a disadvantage, BOR has been training on a working boat for months and could possibly have a second under way. If EB agrees to go back to the 32nd protocol he knows that BOR will have to beat all of the challengers, something they have yet to be able to do, long before they would meet in the AC finals.

I would have to say that by far scenario two is the choice of lessor evil, if EB wins the court case and goes on to win another AC the America's Cup will be over!

In my opinion the Dead of Gift should be modified to make the loser of the AC final the COR for the next Cup.

GGYC Vs. SNG

I would say from the video the court is leaning towards GGYC, I guess we will have to wait and see.
